Alice Kathleen Bell Scheffler
Alice was a beloved mother, grandmother, cousin and dear friend to many. She passed away Sunday 11/24/24.
She was born on 9/15/1942 in Joliet, IL to the late Angela (Nemcevic) Bell and the late Thomas Bell. She attended the Cathedral of Saint Raymond School Class of 1956 and was a graduate of Saint Francis Academy 1960. She later received her nursing degree at St. Charles School of Nursing in 1963.
She is survived by her devoted children Maryfran & Michael Klein, Joe & Jeannine Scheffler, Annette & Kenneth Simonich Jr., Lynne Scheffler, James & Kristen Scheffler, Ginny Scheffler, Debra Scheffler Crowther. Her treasured grandchildren, Maxx, Jack, Natalie Klein, Hailey, Drew, Abby Scheffler, K.C. Simonich, Brynn Noonan, Olivia, Sofia Scheffler, Ava, Logan, Lola Crowther.
Her siblings Janice Bell, Phyllis (the late Bob) Popek, Patricia (Pete) Calabrese, Timothy (Ann) Bell.
Preceded in death by her husband Gerry Scheffler, her parents Thomas and Angela Bell, her brother Tom, and nephews Kevin Calabrese and Jeff Ciancinelli.
Alice found joy in the loving eyes of her grandchildren, family and cherished friends especially her best friend and sister in law Sylvia (DiMonte) Bell who proceded her on 11/27/24.
She was a selfless dedicated wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. Her love language was baking and she never arrived empty handed, most especially, gifting her famous banana bread or brownies.
She was above and beyond the Best Mom, Grandma, Sister and Friend. May her memory be a blessing for all to remember. We will miss her forever.
A 10:00 am Memorial Mass will be held January 6, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Lightways Hospice in memory of Alice K. Scheffler.
