Bernard L. Davis Age 84 passed away Friday April 29 2011 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born October 6 1926 to parents Lawrence and Fern (Baldwin) Davis in Ramsey IL.Survived by his wife Rita S. Davis children Randall (Midge) Davis and Susan Pauli step-children Linda Richard (Mary Beth), Randal (Julie) and Robert (Christy) Schoenstedt grandchildren Skye Davis and Michael Pauli step-grandchildren Sydney and Sander Vest Lorien Katie and Emily Schoenstedt Jordan Schoenstedt and Ryan Schoenstedt one sister Shelby Jeanne (Robert) Lockwood and sister-in-law Hazel Davis. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.Preceded in death by his brothers Laurn Freddie Otto Davis and a sister in infancy.He retired after 33 years at Caterpillar Tractor Co retiring to Florida for 21 years. He worked on a golf course for 10 years. Bernard was an avid golfer until he became disabled. He enjoyed working with wood.Funeral Services will be held Thursday May 5 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. As per his wishes cremation rites will follow. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation Thursday morning for 10:00 a.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
