Billy L. Martin

Age 92, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Amita St. Joseph Medical Center.

Survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Joyce Martin; his children David Martin, Brenda Martin, Alan Martin and his husband Michael Maraz, Beverly Diann Highley and William Martin; granddaughter Heather Highley; sister Karen Ramsey and best companion Billy Boy, his dog.

Preceded in death by his parents Leslie B. and Edna J. Martin; brother Ward Martin and sister Winifred K. Martin in infancy.

Born in Woodlawn, IL in 1931. Living in Joliet the past 60 years, Billy worked various jobs. Farming, landscaping, barge hand, a veteran of the United States Army and his last job as a stocker at Target.  Billy enjoyed hunting in his earlier years. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening and going to garage sales.

Visitation Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.

 Graveside services will be held, Saturday February 3, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at Brown Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
