Charlotte T. Frieh, age 98, of Joliet, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Joliet, Charlotte was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Saint Francis Academy in Joliet and Bryant & Stratton Business College in Chicago. Her career included positions at Silver Cross Hospital, Phillips Control, and the Joliet Navy Yards
A devoted wife and mother, Charlotte cherished her family above all else. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Richard A. Frieh; her parents, Charles and Theresa (Paepke) Scheetz; and her sisters, Pauline (Stanley) Stempien and Lillian (David) Stephen.
Charlotte was a lifelong member of the Cathedral of Saint Raymond Parish, where she was active in the Rosary Group. Her faith was important to her, and she also participated in the Saint Raymond's and Saint Paul's Senior Clubs. A kind and compassionate woman, Charlotte loved animals, especially her cat, Kitty.
She will be deeply missed by her children: Richard J. (Tish Bennett) Frieh, Robert (Teri Townsend) Frieh, and Jeanne (Tony) Butler; her five grandchildren: David Bennett, Terrence Townsend, Kristi Townsend, Katie Townsend, and Matthew Butler; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, Saturday February 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Saturday morning 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Charlotte's name may be made to Lightways Hospice (250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431), Tender Loving Care Animal Shelter (13016 West 151st Street, Homer Glen, IL 60491), or the Cathedral of Saint Raymond Nonnatus.
