David Lee Harrison
Born October 25, 1962, David, the fourth of unknown (his dad was a truck driver) to parents Horace A. and Patricia M. (neé Emmett) Harrison, and grew up in Phoenix, AZ and Chicago, IL. At 35, he met the one and only woman that could kind of tame his obnoxious and stubborn soul, Winty Glidic (Nguyen Giong Thi). David graduated from Proviso High School and completed a number of certifications which included an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
David’s infectious cackle was heard as soon as you walked through the door. Oftentimes, you could find him listening to videos too loud on his phone or holding the phone to close during a FaceTime call. His hobbies consisted of drinking milkshakes that he was allergic to, provoking anyone sitting at the kitchen table, telling us how lucky we were to have ”such a good looking man around”, bragging about all of his children and grandchildren, rebuilding cars that others have given up on, and yelling about the dogs he secretly loved. He had an incredible knack at knowing what was wrong with a vehicle just by listening to the sound it made. David had a difficult journey during his walk on Earth but that never stopped him from helping those in need and was willing to teach anyone.
David is also survived by his children in order per wife, Patrick (Ashlee) Harrison, Joshua (Alina) Harrison, Joseph (Ania) (Alicia) Glidic, Jimmy (Krystal) Glidic, Shawna Johnson, and last but not least his pain in the butt daughter Angelina “Angel” (Jonathan) Diaferia-Harrison; his granddaughters Kalea, Kelsi, Laci, Kayli, Katrina, Khloe, Mya, Bella, Alex, Elisabetta, Taylor, and Alexa; his grandsons Austin, Clay, Austyn, Anthony, Max, Mason, Aiden, Tyler, Cameron, Jonathan, Nathen, Ethen, and Greyson; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Marlana Harrison, Karen Kunsman and Paula McGuire; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friend, Grandpa Thomas Maffeo.
He is preceded in death by his children, Anthony “Tony” Johnson and David Lee Harrison, Jr; parents, Horace and Patricia Harrison and Lorraine Harrison; siblings, Daniel Harrison, and Judith Harrison.
Today, allow yourselves time to be sad but tomorrow appreciate the fact that he died doing his favorite thing, cussing underneath a truck.
