Dennis James Gossen

Age 58, passed away suddenly at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet on December 23, 2022.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife Michele (Hotuyec) Gossen, adoring daughters Jessica and Jamison Gossen; brothers Donald and Douglas (Kelly) Gossen; sisters-in-law Rebecca Lennon and Amy Beth Wilson; 11 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 grandnieces and 3 grandnephews.   Numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.  In addition, he was a good friend and mentor to his fellow employees at Channahon General Rental and his girl’s friends.

Preceded in death by his parents Hilary and DeLores (Knutson) Gossen; sister-in-law Alice Gossen and father and mother-in-law Richard and Claudia Hotuyec.

Dennis was born in Joliet and lived here all his life.  He graduated from Joliet Central High School and the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Electrical Engineering.  Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family, taking his dogs, Buddy and Poe, to the dog park, motorcycles, fishing, grilling and collecting.  He was an avid history and science fiction buff.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 2, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.2.jdrf.org.
