Dennis J. Ryan

Age 79, passed away Saturday November 4, 2023 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center.

Survived by his loving wife Shirley (Nuttall) Ryan; grandchildren Dylan (Trey) Hill, Jacob (Karen) Collins, Sarah (Carlos) Collins, Alyson (Andrew) Workman; great grandchildren Destiny, Jeremiah, Declan and Lennon Collins, Enzo Garcia, Paisley Workman; three sisters Mary Ann Holl, Donna Strong and Rose Ewoldt.  Also surviving is his rescue dog Toto.

Preceded in death by his daughter Dana Collins; parents Donald T. and Charlotte B. (Pomykala) Ryan.

Born in Joliet, lifelong resident.  Dennis was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in France during the Vietnam War.  Member of Crossroads Christian Church, where he greeted everyone as they entered the church for Sunday services.  Dennis loved spending time with his grandkids and telling stories.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.   Funeral Services will be private.   Interment with Military Honors will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers memorials to Crossroads Christian Church would be appreciated.
