Elizabeth E. Kosinski

Elizabeth E. Kosinski “Liz” nee Brown, 84, of Joliet passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Kosinski and Susan Esparza; and 1 son Walter (Deborah); 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Penny Joye (James) Daniels; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Walter P. Kosinski (2004); one brother Pete; and three sisters, Jo, June, and Jean; and one granddaughter Leilani Rayne Esparza (2012).

Elizabeth was born in West Frankfort, IL to Morton and Nora Brown, moving to Joliet with her family, attending Joliet Central High School, class of 1958.

Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. A resident of River Crossing since 2008, Elizabeth, who loved to keep up with current events, was their top trivia player for many years.

Elizabeth always enjoyed participating in the Joliet Kiwanis shows, going to musicals, listening to Elvis, dancing and watching movies. Elizabeth’s smile, kind nature, enthusiastic spirit, her love of life and family, will be missed by many.  

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.   Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.   Visitation Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
