Jack J. Wooldridge

Jack J. Wooldridge, 83 passed away Wednesday, December 15,2021 at the Harbor Chase Senior Community in Plainfield, IL. He was born December 1, 1938 in Mattoon IL. The son of Robert and Josephine Wooldridge, he graduated from Pana High School in 1957 and attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale IL. After serving in the United States Army/Reserves, he started his professional life as a pay phone collector for GTE. He served in many roles with GTE and ultimately retired with Verizon after 30 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a Master Mason and an exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge in Olney IL. Jack was a loving husband/father/grandfather and enjoyed many years of camping, boating and fishing with his family and friends. Jack is survived by his wife Valerie and their four children; Mark and Hope Wooldridge of Plainfield IL, Steve and Margaret Wooldridge of Manchester MI, Scott and Nancy Wooldridge of Ft. Wayne IN, Jennifer and her husband Duane Lopez of Cape Coral, FL, and 11 grandchildren. Also, surviving are his brother Bob Wooldridge of Manchester IA and his sister Linda King of Galesburg IL. Visitation from 9am to 11 am with funeral services immediately following will be held at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home on Monday, December 27th in Joliet IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
