Janet Marie Nelson passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Villa Franciscan Rehabilitation Center.
She was 77. Janet was born in Fremont, MI at Gerber Hospital, then moved as a child to the Joliet area and remained there for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Nelson , Sr.; parents Theodore and Geraldine Nardin; one brother Theodore Nardin Jr.
Janet is survived by her children; one son, James A. (Kristine) Nelson Jr.; one daughter, Jennifer (TJ) Parr; six grandchildren, Joshua, Amber, Stephanie, Aaron, Cedric and Blake; four great grandchildren, Eric, Zoey, Wyatt and Saphirra; and two sisters Pam (Larry) Mendenhall and Judy (Jim) Belcher.
Janet retired after a long career as a nurse in the Joliet area. Janet was an avid bowler; and loved camping, traveling, and playing any kind of game. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all she touched.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Visitation Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Private interment.
