John Bukowski

December 19, 1942 — December 18, 2020

John R. Bukowski, age 78, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side.

He is survived by his children Mari Edmondson, Ray (Diane) Bukowski, Melissa (Christopher) Papesh, and David Bukowski; grandchildren Justin Muraski, Brendan Edmondson, Allison Papesh, Bailey Papesh, and Ethan Bukowski; great-grandchildren Derian, Kendall and Savannah Muraski; and three sisters.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Jane (Baker) Bukowski and his parents Raymond & Helen Bukowski and his dear friend Ronald Salski.

John dearly loved his grandchildren and coaching or attending their various sporting events. He loved playing golf, doing puzzles and spending the winters in Florida. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus # 12882.

A private visitation will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 3-6 p.m.  A prayer service for John will be live streamed at 6 p.m. on Monday. Please visit the obituary at bgsfuneralhome.com to attend virtually. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Minooka on Wednesday, December 23rd at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in John’s name to the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois (NKFI), 215 W. Illinois Street, Suite 1C, Chicago, IL 60654.
