Judith (Miller) Rogers passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Lightways Hospice Care in Joliet. Judi was born in Joliet, IL on November 4, 1943, the daughter of Arthur Miller and Rose (Ellena) Miller Freeman.

Judi is survived by her loving family. Her children Deborah (Shawn) Bredesen and David (Suzanne Meshkati) Rogers. Her grandchildren Sarah and Ryan Bredesen, and Kirsten (Joseph) Patty. Her niece Kimberly (Miguel) Delgadillo and her nephew Craig (Mia) Miller. Her great nieces Gisele Delgadillo and Juniper Miller and her great nephew Dominic Delgadillo. Also survived are sisters-in-law Suzanne (Michael – deceased) McGroarty and Marti (John) Whalen. In addition to lifelong friend Beatsie Holmes.

Judi was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jack (2019), her brother Kenneth Miller (2017), her parents, and her grand puppy Mocha.

Jack and Judi spent most of their lives in Joliet until they moved to Plainfield in 2005.

Judi was a 1961 graduate of St. Francis Academy. She attended Joliet Junior College and graduated in education from the University of Saint Francis. She taught in Joliet and Plainfield. 

Jack and Judi loved attending all of the activities of their children and later their grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, sewing, travel, and taking walks. She loved babysitting her grandchildren. She was the reading and shopping grandma. She and Jack also enjoyed puppy sitting their beloved Mocha. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Judi asked that donations be made to one of the following organizations: Lightways Hospice in Joliet, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.
