She had a special love for her friend’s children Skye and Devin, and counted them among her nieces and nephews. Numerous and much loved aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. She is survived also by her greatly loved special longtime companions, Penny, Bonkers and Shelly.
Katherine to her family, Katie to her friends, she was known for her adventurous spirit, sense of crazy humor, her compassion and empathy for others.
Her generous nature extended from her family and friends to the animals she loved so well. She was involved in some animal rescue over the years, often with animals coming home to join her ever-growing menagerie.
Katherine deeply loved her family and counted among her happiest times the summers she spent with her sister on their cousin’s dairy farm in central Illinois.
She loved spending time with her family and friends, watching movies, listening to music, attending Country Thunder concerts, spending time on the water and at the beach, family dinners; her friends will remember many long and animated conversations. She especially loved her time spent at the Route 66 Chicagoland Speedway.
Katherine also had a spiritual side, and carried others in her heart, praying for their happiness and well being. Her friend Jackie guided her to a deeper understanding and a closer relationship with her Lord, Jesus Christ.
As were Katherine’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
