Kristen Gladys Lotz, at the age of 70, passed away on April 9, 2024 in Chicago, Illinois. Born in Joliet, Illinois, Kristen was the youngest daughter of Roger and Ingrid (Engstrom) Lotz . She had three siblings, namely: Dennis, Roger and Nancy.
Preceded in death, she joins her brother Roger and sister, Nancy. She is survived by her wife Stella Marie Santos (who shared her life for twenty-one years), brother Dennis Lotz, nieces and nephews. She extended her love to her in-laws as a true sister, aunt, and grand aunt. Her life was enriched by the love and care of her family, with all her nieces, nephews, and grandkids.
Kris or Krissy as she is fondly called by her family and friends, retired from CITGO Petroleum where she worked for twenty-five years.
Kris, with her gentle and kind spirit, brought warmth and love to all who knew her. She cherished the simple joys of life, found solace in travel, and appreciated the beauty of nature, especially at Lake Tahoe. An avid Blackjack player, she embraced the thrill of the game with a joyful spirit. At her favorite bar, she loved to drink with friends and meet new people who eventually became dear friends to her.
Her compassionate nature knew no bounds, as she welcomed all with open arms, making them feel accepted and loved. You can be yourself whenever you are with Kris. With a humble and gentle demeanor, she taught us the power of kindness and acceptance.
She approached life with a heart full of gratitude, saying “thank you” each time for even the simplest acts of kindness bestowed upon her.
Always quick to reciprocate love, her heartfelt "I love you" echoed in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. Her “I love you’s” told back to family and friends who had a chance to see her in her last days, will forever be cherished.
A lover of animals, particularly dogs and cats, Kris found joy in their companionship and brought comfort to their lives as they did to hers. Her dog, Lucky, will miss her.
Though she may be gone, her love and light will continue to shine in our hearts, guiding us through life's journey. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love and grace she bestowed upon us all.
