Lawrence E. Kambic

Lawrence Edward Kambic, age 85, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 27 2022 at Lightways Hospice in Joliet.  Larry was born in Joliet, IL on October 26, 1936.  He attended Joliet Junior College and Washington University in St. Louis, MO.

Larry leaves behind his sons Kurt, Keith (Laura), son-in-law Mark Berman, six grandchildren: Justin (Brittnae), Jonathan (Violet), Zachary (Amanda), Allison (Zach), Jeremy, Emily, and seven great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister Elaine (Jim) Bishop, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Beverly (Hicks), his daughter Lori (Berman), his parents William and Vida (Panian) and his brother Bill.  

Larry’s career spanned 45 years, working at Prudential Insurance, the Joliet Herald News, and First American Title.   In addition, Larry sat on many local boards, such as United Cerebral Palsy, Realtor’s, and several condominium associations.  He was active in his church and enjoyed camping and boating.  

In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s name to Lightways Hospice in Joliet (250 Waterstone Circle, Joliet IL 60431) would be most appreciated.  Services for Larry will be private.
