Clark, Leah (Bernard) Born at home in Joliet on Sep 21, 1919 to the late Charles & Grace Bernard. Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Sunnyhill Nursing Home on July 21, 2013. 1937 graduate of Joliet Township High School. She married Raymond "Pat" Clark in 1940. They became a founding family of the village of Shorewood, where she spent most of her adult life. Leah was retired Cafeteria Manager from Troy School. She served many years as an election judge and was a Lifetime Member of Troy Ladies Auxiliary. Her passions in life were crocheting, crossword and find-a-word puzzles, and being a Die Hard Cubs Fan, never giving up on them winning the ever elusive World Series. She was an endless source of knowledge and had an amazing memory. She deeply loved her family, as they did her. She will never be gone from their minds or hearts. Preceded by husband Pat, daughter Leanne McKanna, brothers Richard (Mildred) Voigt and Charles (Marge) Bernard and sisters Edna Mae Bernard and Beverly (Jack) Howard. Survived by sons Raymond (Georgia) and Larry (Carol) Clark and daughter Patti (Charlie) Churchill, 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends. Leah's family is forever grateful to Sunnyhill for making her last 5 years comfortable and enjoyable, and both Sunnyhill and Vitas Hospice for their care and compassion during her brief illness. Funeral from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home on Friday, July 26, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. to St. Jude's, Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. -Burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
