LeRoy A. Hon

Age 86, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at Oak Trace Nursing Home in Downers Grove, IL.

Survived by step son James Davis; grandchildren Joseph Dobczyk, Kenny and Cody Riddell, Crystal Boyle and son-in-law Chris Boyle.

Preceded in death by his wife Evelyn (Hull) Hon (1991); daughter Joyce Boyle (2014); parents Emmett and Lulu (Oldham) Hon; granddaughter Jennifer Dobczyk; one sister Lavonne Sapp; two brothers James and Robert Hon.

Born, raised and lived in Lockport.  Leroy was a metalist for 40 years retiring in 2001.  He also worked for Ludwig Elementary School.  A U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War.  Member of Grace Baptist Church, Lockport and the Lockport American Legion.  He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 31, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.   Interment with military honors will be held Wednesday February 1, 2023 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.    Visitation Tuesday 4-7:30 p.m.   In lieu of flowers memorials to Grace Baptist Church, 501 N.
