Age 66, passed away on Monday April 26, 2021 at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox.
She was born on August 17, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Frank and Elizabeth (O’Rourke) Reifeiss. Linda was a graduated of West Milford High School in West Milford, New Jersey. Attended Governor’s State University and Joliet Junior College, studying fashion merchandizing. Attended Robert Powells School for Modeling in Glen Ellen, IL. Later went to work for Klein’s Department Store in Joliet, IL for 15 years. In addition, early in life, worked for Idelese Nursing Home in Clifton, N.J. Then took care of her ailing mother and held down two jobs.
After marrying Dan M. Davis on July 26, 1975, she took care of her husband’s mother Bernice Davis. Linda was a caring and loving person. Especially when it came to her many dogs, especially Lindy.
Preceded in death by her parents; her brother Kevin Reifeiss; grandmother Mary Dugan; brothers-in-law Tom Steel and E. Robert Oram; beloved aunts Rita Mitchell, Terry Dugan; beloved uncles Edward Dugan, Loran Mitchell and Michael Mitchell; great niece Corinne Kestel.
Survived by her loving husband Dan M. Davis; her sister Fran Steel; three sisters-in-law Delores Oram, Judy Jacobs and Margaret Davis; two brothers-in-law Richard Davis and Terry Jacobs; nieces Susan Wade, Jennifer Steel and Victoria Steel. Loved by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friend Tanya and her dog Lindy.
Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Interment will be in West Big Rock Cemetery, Big Rock, IL. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for medical expenses or to ASPCA would be appreciated.
