Mavis L. (Kohlmeier) Barski

Age 90, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at her home with family by her side.

Preceded in death by first husband Charlie Senko; second husband Edward Barski; parents Irvin and Ruth “Ruby” (Norman) Kohlmeier; sister-in-law Karen Kohlmeier.

Survived by her son Alan Barski; daughter-in-law Jacalyn Samoska-Barski; grandchildren Jessica (Doug Iafollo) Samoska and Matthew (Michelle Thompson) Barski; great grandchildren Kohen, Norah, Reyia and Magnolia; and one brother Eldon “Bud” Kohlmeier. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Born in Pontiac, IL., resident of Crest Hill.  Mavis graduated Saunemin Township High School Class of 1951, Joliet Business College 1 year.   She worked for the Will County Welfare Agency in the 50’s and 60’s.   Longtime and active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.   Member of the Crest Hill Women’s Civic League, Senior Spirit and was an election judge.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.   Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  Visitation Saturday morning 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
