Nancy Rose Jones (née Synakiewicz), 81, passed away on October 31, 2024, in Menifee, California.
Born on December 30, 1942, in Blue Island, Illinois, Nancy dedicated her life to education and service. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and later pursued a master's degree in special education. A devoted educator, she spent over 35 years shaping young minds in the Frankfort School System, always striving to provide her students with the best opportunities to learn and grow.
Nancy had a deep appreciation for the arts and culture. She loved attending the symphony and musicals and visiting art museums. Traveling was one of her greatest joys, especially embarking on cruises that allowed her to explore new places and experiences.
Her faith was an integral part of her life. She served as a lector at St. Anthony's in Frankfort, Illinois, before becoming a parishioner at St. Raymond's. She was deeply committed to the Catholic Church and resonated with the message of Pope John XXIII—a vision of love and accessibility for all within the church community.
Nancy is survived by her children: John Jones, Jr. (Diane), Jennifer Glover, and Andrew Jones; her sisters Frances Williamson (Jim) and Marjorie Synakiewicz (Bob Tuzik); and her grandchildren Maxwell Jones, Pierce Glover, Evan Glover, Liam Glover, Cameron Jones, and Mya Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Frances Synakiewicz, and her former husband, John Jones, Sr.
A memorial mass will be held on March 13, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N Raynor Avenue. Joliet, IL 60435
