Robert William Manner Age 62. Passed away peacefully on August 26 2010 with his family by his side after a cour Ageous battle with cancer. Bob was born in Joliet on July 3 1948 and a lifelong resident. Graduate of Joliet West H.S. class of 1966. He was a hair stylist in Joliet for forty years. Former owner of Mr. Robert?s and Manner Magic. Bob was currently employed at Apropos and Brown and Brown and a member of the Elk?s Club. He enjoyed biking gardening and most of all meeting people. Bob was a caring husband father and great friend to all he touched. He will be missed dearly. Proceeded in death by his sister Sue Manner Turk and his parents Mary and William Manner. Many Aunts and Uncles two of whom gave Bob constant support Uncle George H. Dwyer (2002) and R. Patrick Dwyer (2003). Survived by his loving wife and best friend of thirty five years Julie Woodruff Kitchell Manner. Survived by his four devoted children Kurt (Sharon) Kitchell of Frankfort IL., Glenn (Lora) Kitchell of Plainfield IL., Kay (John) Novak of Shorewood IL and Dale (Kristine) Kitchell of Morris IL. His caring brother John (Susanne) Manner. Niece Stephanie (Brent) Wagner and nephews William and Michael (Fiance Julie Torres). Grandchildren include Clare Emily and Katherine Kitchell Ashley Chandler Kristin Kimberly and Kevin Kitchell Sara and John Novak Caitlin Hannah and Mason Kitchell. Great Nieces and Nephews J.C., Hayden Cordelia Cormac and Declan. Also survived by his sister in law Janet Woodruff and brother in law Frank Turk. Great friend and second mother Jacquelyn Hickey and countless others who provided never ending love and support during Bob?s illness. Funeral from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home Monday August 30 2010 at 10:30 a.m. to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Internment to Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Monday morning from 8:00-10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bob?s memory to the family or the Guardian Angel Home?s Suzy?s Caring Place.
