Robert J. Schultz, Jr., age 73, passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice of Joliet on Thursday, July 22, 2021, with his loving family by his side. Born in Joliet on November 11, 1947, to Robert and Lillian (nee Prisching) Schultz. Preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Margaret. Survived by his beloved wife Patricia (nee Wieczorek); his children, Jennifer (Justin Leinenweber) Schultz of Chicago, Tracy (Adam Schenkenberg) Schultz of Minneapolis, MN, Elizabeth Schultz of Joliet, and Michael (Sarah Quigley) Schultz of Manhattan; siblings James (Linda) Schultz of Joliet, Donna (William) Rice of River Forest, Judith (John) Madden of Prospect, KY, Mary (Carlos) Bastidas of Chicago, Carol (Daniel) Lundin of New London, NC, and Laura (Jerry Breef) Schultz of Joliet; seven cherished grandchildren Griffin, Skylar, Nolan, and Carson Schultz, Harry and Ralph Leinenweber, and Emmett Schenkenberg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert “Bob” was a life-long resident of Joliet. He and his brother Jim continued to own and operate their family’s business, Midwest Supply Company, for many years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching sports, playing cards, bowling, and caring for his dogs. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lightways Hospice of Joliet in Bob's name would be appreciated. The entire Schultz family would like to thank the staff at Lightways Hospice and all of Bob’s caretakers for their help and compassion during his illness and final days. Funeral from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home on Monday, July 26, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. to the Cathedral of St. Raymond for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 25 from 2-6 p.m.
