Ronald J. Bromberek

November 30, 1946 — January 3, 2022

Ronald J. Bromberek, age 75, passed away Monday, January 3rd at his home in Holiday, Florida. He is survived by his second wife, Hazel Wilson, two children Heidi (Scott) Jenkins and Tieg Bromberek; three grandchildren, Sydney, Shelby, and Luke Jenkins; sister, Barb Johnston, brothers, Don and Tom Bromberek; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Susan (Achterberg) Bromberek, and his parents, Raymond and Martha (Kabat) Bromberek.
He was born in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Township High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army (stationed in Germany) and then worked managing the transmission assembly for Caterpillar until he retired. He was a member of the Joliet Moose Lodge Chapter #300 and an avid fisherman with annual trips to Kentucky and Tennessee. He was also a very devoted grandparent who taught his grandkids to fish and rarely missed an opportunity to watch their sporting events, performances, and ceremonies. Although his family will miss him dearly, the fish in Lake Conley Florida are breathing a sigh of relief.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 11th, from 4 to 8 PM at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, 1500 Black Road in Joliet. Funeral Services will be held the following day, Wednesday at 10 AM, at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag, followed by interment at the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Seasons Hospice (2644 Cypress Ridge Blvd, Suite #104, Westley Chapel, Florida 33544) would be appreciated.
