Sarah Anne Nelson went to be with her Savior on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. She was born on March 18 (her father’s birthday), 1975, in Palos Heights, Illinois, to Ron and Eunice Nelson. Sarah graduated high school from God’s Bible School. She attended undergrad classes at God’s Bible School & College, Northern Kentucky University, and Trevecca Nazarene University. She then earned a master of arts from Saint Xavier University in Chicago.
Sarah returned to Cincinnati and worked as a counselor at a youth detention center. Later she worked at a dialysis center. When she could no longer work due to her physical condition, she returned to Worth, Illinois, to live with her mother. In 2017 Eunice and Sarah moved to Fort Mill, South Carolina, to be closer to David and Ann.
In 2019 Sarah went to reside in Aperion Care Summerfield in Cloverdale, Indiana. The Summerfield staff gave her excellent, loving care during the past five years.
Sarah is preceded in death by her father, Ron Nelson, and her sisters Joy Aills and Ruth Ross. She is survived by her mother, Eunice Nelson; her brother David and his wife Ann, her brothers-in-law Mark Aills and wife Amber and Gary Ross and wife Laurie; her nieces Kara Aills, Claire Nelson, and Audrey Nelson, and numerous friends and loved ones.
The memorial service will be Thursday, February 20, at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, 1500 Black Road, Joliet, Illinois. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Elmhurst Cemetery, 1212 E. Washington Street, Joliet, Illinois.
