Stephen L. Kuhn

KUHN, STEPHEN L. Age 65, of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on July 22, 2013 at Edward Hospiatal in Naperville, Il, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Sandra (Woodard); his daughter Jarrellyn Lichtenwalter (fianc Robert Hall) of Joliet; two grand-daughters Lauren and Megan Chaffee of Joliet; a sister Kris (Robert) Weinshilboum, a niece Elizabeth (James) Andrews of Braidwood; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his son Stephen L. Kuhn II, on November 13, 1992. His parents Leonard and Golda Kuhn. Born in Lawrence, Kansas, he has been a resident of the Joliet area since 1970. Retired in February 2000 from Mobil Corporation after 27 years. He is remembered by many Joliet residents as the House manager of the Rialto Square Theatre from 1982 through 1986. He always made himself available in the rotunda after performances and spoke with many patrons. A former member of the IAM&AW, the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and the American Film Institute (AFI). Steve was an avid supporter of the arts and charitable organizations. Locally, he was the past member of the Celebration of Community Caring Committee; he received a special service award from the United Way of Will County in 1998; and he produced video projects for several charitable organizations. He has been very involved in the Kiwanis Club since his retirement. Steve was also an avid Nascar Fan. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Joliet Kiwanis Club would be appreciated. A Memorial Service will be held Friday July 26, 2013 at 4p.m at the Blackburn Giegerich Sonntag Funeral Home 1500 Black Road Joliet, IL.
