Thomas W Duncan

Thomas Whitman Duncan Born on January 28, 1949, passed away peacefully at Joliet Area Community Hospice on September 6, 2010. He was preceded in death by father Captain Edward R. Duncan, Sr. Tom is survived by his mother, Margaret H. Duncan, Ph.D. of Joliet, his brother Edward R. Duncan, Jr. of Glen Ellyn and his sister Jane E. Duncan of Kennebunkport, Maine, as well as by many loving relatives and long time friends. He was a graduate of Joliet West High School, and he attended the San Francisco Academy of Art and Northern Illinois University. He continued his family'?s proud tradition of military service by spending three years in the 2nd Battalion, 508th Airborne Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division. Tom loved his family and friends, the study of art and history, and his garden. His cheerfulness and kindness will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Joliet, at the corner of Western and Raynor, on September 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.Visitation will be at the church 1pm until time of service. Interment at Elmhurst Cemetery . In lieu of flowers donations to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 would be greatly appreciated.
