Velma R. Conroy

Velma R. Conroy Nee: Hefner Age 87, passed away Saturday June 25, 2011 at her home. Survived by her two daughters Diane (Donald) Lutz and Susan Conroy; grandchildren Derek and Erin Lutz; brothers Don (Betty), Roy and Glenn (June) Hefner; sisters-in-law Shirley (Richard) Berti and Pat (Don) Conroy; brothers-in-law Andrew (Mary Ellen) Cronholm and John (Carole) Conroy. Numerous nieces, nephews and special friend Alberta (George) Dixon also survive. Preceded in death by her husband Samuel Conroy; parents Elmo and Margaret Hefner; brother Carl, Paul, Earl and Dale Hefner. Born in Hamlet, IN a Joliet resident since 1945. Retired teacher from District 86. Member of Grace United Methodist Church and Beta Sigma Phi. Funeral Services will Wednesday June 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home and Wednesday morning at church from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Memorials to Grace United Methodist Church or Provena Hospice would be appreciated.
