Wendy Cooper Reeves, beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away, after a lengthy health battle, on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Amita St Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois, at the age of 70 years.
Wendy is survived by her husband of 22 years, Kevin Reeves, her brother David Cooper (Linda), sister-in-law Virginia Harrison, nephews, Paul Cooper (Julie), Dana Cooper, nieces, Rebekah (Howard), Sarai (Shannon), Laurel (Rocky), and Leah (Nathan), grandson, Josh Brooks, along with many great nieces and great nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Wendell and Doris Cooper, brother Martin Cooper, nephew, Errol Cooper, and first husband Jerry Brooks.
For all her life, Wendy was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in New Lenox, where she lived as a child and young adult. She was employed for many years, as Customer Service Specialist by Shelby Craftco Sample Company, until its closing.
Wendy was a warm, loving presence in the lives of all who knew and loved her. Her loss has left a chasm in the hearts of those left behind. She had the gift of a gentle, quiet, spirit of service. Anyone who interacted with her walked away with a lighter step.
A celebration of Wendy’s life will be held on Saturday, October 30 at 11:00 am at Grace Episcopal Church, 209 North Pine Street, New Lenox, Illinois. Visitation 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am.
